Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem

The Society starts the new year on **STOP PRESS** Tuesday 13th January (rehearsal on 6th January cancelled because of illness) with rehearsals of Brahms' German Requiem. This beautiful work shys away from other reqiuems' references to terror and judgement, and instead concentrates on hope and solace. It is always a joy to sing!

For this performance in Dorchester Abbey on Saturday 14th March we shall be singing in German, and we shall be using Brahms’ original four-hand piano accompaniment.

Tickets go on general sale on Saturday 31st January, but why not make sure of the best seats in the Abbey by becoming a Friend of the Society? The Friends membership year starts in January, and priority booking for Gold Friends opens on Saturday 17th January (and a week later for Silver Friends). Full details of our Friends schemes, including the application form, are here.

Bach Christmas Oratorio

What a start to the season! Tom's first concert with us was a triumph. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio wowed a sell-out audience in Dorchester Abbey on 6th December 2025, The choir, our fabulous soloists, and the sublime orchestra Instruments of Time and Truth made a joyful noise.

"Accessible and highly enjoyable" and "intensely moving" wrote the Henley Standard in their glowing review.
