Description:	Come and Sing Mendelssohn's Elijah with Benson Choral Society directed by their dynamic new Musical Director, Steven Grahl Mendelssohn's dramatic oratorio, Elijah is one of the most moving and satisfying pieces in the repertoire for the choral singer to perform. We will be exploring this great work with Steven accompanied by Gavin Roberts on the piano. The morning and early afternoon will be spent delving deeply into each chorus, its place and meaning in the work, and practising its performance. The last 75 minutes or so will be a run-through of all the choruses putting our learning into practice. The venue for the workshop is the parish hall at Benson (see map). There is plenty of parking and the main hall is spacious, warm and has a good acoustic. A light lunch will be provided for those who want it with a variety of home-made soups, cheese, fruit and bread (make sure you book a separate lunch ticket if you want to take advantage of this). Benson Choral Society are performing Elijah on March 18th in Dorchester Abbey and many of the society will be at the workshop. We hope that as many singers as possible from other choral societies will join us in what promises to be a very excitiing event. .
