Requiem\n&nbsp\;\nProgramme Notes\nExperience with Benson Choral Society
one of the most powerful and moving choral works ever written: Johannes Br
 ahms&#39\;s Ein Deutsches Requiem.\n\nUnlike traditional Latin requiems\,
Brahms created a &#39\;human requiem&#39\; to comfort the living. Driven b
y the grief of losing his mother and his mentor Robert Schumann\, Brahms m
eticulously selected German biblical texts to offer a universal message of
  hope\, peace\, and shared humanity.\n\nThis monumental work\, Brahms&#39\
;s longest composition\, stands apart for its deep emotional resonance\, r
ich romantic melodies\, and exquisite choral writing. The music offers us
a journey from anxiety and sorrow to ultimate consolation and peace.\n\nWe
will be performing the original version for piano duet\, created by Brahm
s himself.\n\nJoin us for a performance of this timeless masterpiece and B
rahms&#39\;s vision of comfort at Dorchester Abbey on Saturday 14th March
at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased online at this link and by clicking th
