There are approximately 120 members of the Benson Choral Society, of which between 90 are 100 are active at any
one time. Both the choir and the conductor feel that audition is unnecessary as they wish to encourage
singers to join and enjoy the experience of singing in a choir.
It is assumed that all members will have had some singing experience, and be able to read music and follow a score.
If you wish to join the choir and know any of the committee or voice representatives, all would be please to help you.
Alternatively you can contact us through enquiries@bensonchoralsociety.org.uk.
We will respond giving the date and time of the next rehearsal and the name and contact of the relevant voice representative.
If you want a "taster" for what we do and what our rehearsals are like, please come and join in at one of our rehearsals.
Just make yourself known to one of the committee or voice representatives. You will then be introduced to your
voice representative and made welcome.
You will have a good idea of what we will be rehearsing by noting the programme for the next concert.
If you have the copy bring it with you.
If you do not, the librarian arranges for members to hire it. Copy is distributed at the beginning of each term.
If you are thinking of joining after the beginning of term and do not have copy, please contact us in advance.
To encourage those who may be uncertain as to whether singing in a choir such as ours is for them,
we charge no subscription for the first term. Thereafter, we will charge according to the rates below.
All parts are most welcome, with tenors particularly welcome!
